Adopt a pony

Adopt a pony

Meet our ponies. We've got 9 ponies you can adopt. For £3 a month, you will get a photo and letters every term. The money will go towards looking after the ponies, especially the older ones who need more attention and care.

This is Tornado. He is a Criollo. He was born in the wild in Argentina. He was used as a cattle horse by the Guachos (cowboys) until he was 7 years old. He was treated badly. He has scars on his leg and in his mouth from badly fitting tack. He then came over to Europe. He struggles with confidence but he's getting better every day. He is a Western horse but he is training to be ridden English.

This is Pepi. He was the first Rainbow Horses horse. He is also a Criollo and came over to Europe on the same ship as Tornado. He has a problem with his spine and neck, so he needs treatments weekly. Because of this he needed to be retired and is now a companion horse. He is 13 years old.

This is Zion. He also came from Argentina. He came to England to teach children to play polo. He also played with adults on his back. He retired two years ago because he has Arthritis and a pelvis problem. He is 27 years old.

This is Flick. He is an ex showjumper and ex riding school pony. He is 17 years old. He is a Welsh Section B. He is 13.2hh. He is great working with the Saturday kids some of which have Autism. He can be nervous with certain objects but we are working on building his confidence.

This is Paddy. He is 16 years old. He is an ex riding school pony. He bucks when he is anxious but he is learning not to do that. He is Flick's best friend. He is good at dressage and amazing at jumping. He is great with the Saturday kids when they paint him!

This is George A.K.A The Pocket Rocket. He is 9 years old. He likes to escape from the fields to get to the nicer grass. He is learning to pull a cart.

This is Penny. She is a New Forest pony. She is 12 years old. She is great with little kids when they are learning how to sit a horse.

This is Ru. He used to be a showjumper. He is 21 years old. He retired because he has Arthritis. His Dad is Abbeylex Owen and his Mum is called Moonlight. They are Connemaras.
